PWC updates regarding COVID-19
Dear patient,
We’ve got exciting news! Effective immediately we are open for in-office appointments again! We understand that this news may come as a mixed bag; it means we are beginning to get back to life as it was before the public health emergency, but it doesn’t fully alleviate concerns around COVID-19. At PWC we want you to know that we understand the concerns our patients have about returning to medical offices and we have not taken those concerns lightly. Per guidance from the CDC, DOH, and Governor Inslee’s office there are new protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all patients and staff. We have resumed normal office hours to ensure you have access to the care you need. Our focus has always been helping our patients achieve their healthcare goals.
We are taking precautions to make your visit with us as safe as possible, including:
- Pre-screening patients for COVID-19 symptoms
- Having patients with C19 symptoms stay at home and seeing them via virtual appointments
- Digital intake forms and online/phone payments
- Curbside pick-up for supplements
- Increased disinfectant processes
- Discouraging visitors unless parent/guardian/caregiver
- Encouraging patients/visitors to wear a mask, utilizing hand sanitizer and practicing social distancing
More exciting news: We will continue offering telehealth/virtual appointments. You now have the choice of an in-office appointment or a telehealth appointment. Some appointment types may still need the patient present, but the doctors and staff will advise you when that is the case. This also means we can begin offering elective procedures including physicals, injection therapies, and IV therapy. You may call the office at 253-848-1055 to schedule your appointment or request an appointment online at PatientAlly.com.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
You might be wondering why I attached an image of Advil tablets to the top of this email.
Well, for 2 simple reasons actually:
First, if you want to protect your health during these uncertain times, you're probably getting a headache trying to make sense of weeks on end of non-stop media coverage and potentially dangerous misinformation that’s circulating on social media around COVID-19.
Now, not everything being shared is misleading but, now more than ever, we need to be very careful about what we “tune” into. If all we see, read, and hear is doom and gloom, there won’t be much reason to jump out of bed in the morning.
Plus, these days, you can barely leave your house, go to the grocery store, or even connect with friends and family in person. As much as these help to reduce the spread of this virus, they’re also creating new challenges for many people to stay on track with their health goals, and creating new problems of their own – such as decreased vitamin D levels from being stuck inside, increased stress from watching (mostly negative) news - both of which DECREASE immunity. Not to mention the social isolation which also decreases immunity, but more importantly has been shown to be the TOP risk factor for all-cause mortality!!
Although, I’m not a big fan of Advil (for obvious reasons), I added it here to get your attention because I may be able to help you get rid of this pandemic headache without the Advil once and for all!
See, for years, I’ve been helping patients get better from a variety of conditions from fatigue, IBS, autoimmune diseases to unwanted weight gain, heart disease and chronic pain, and many more. (And as you may have heard, some of these conditions can increase risk of serious complications in someone who has a COVID-19 infection).
But, right now, I’ve been forced to cut back on our services. Trouble is that the pains and health conditions that our patients (that you) are dealing with don’t just stop. They still persist in spite of what’s going on in the world right now.
And, before you think that there’s not much you can do about that until things smooth over with this pandemic, let me give some encouraging news…
I’ve been working hard to continue serving our patients without them having to come in to see me in the clinic.
Yup, you got it - I’ve been helping them remotely. Technology really is our best friend right now. And because of it my patients are able to get better during this time, instead of having to deal with their condition for months-to-come all by themselves.
Now, I’m sure you're trying to figure out exactly how this would work but let me tell you, in many cases, visiting with patients remotely has been even more helpful for them than if I saw them in person!
Who would have thought?
And I’ve been so encouraged by this new “care model” that I just needed to let you know about it and extend a helping hand to offer you a free phone consultation to see if this would make sense for you as well.
I know this may take a moment to wrap your head around and you might have some questions about how I can help you right now.
That’s why I’m offering you this free phone consultation - to answer your questions and put together a game plan for your situation so we can get you feeling better even without coming into the clinic. (You’d be amazed at what we can do virtually). You see, many of you have been calling and emailing us asking questions about what to do to enhance immunity, how to handle your anxiety and whether the news you are hearing about from the media are even accurate. If nothing else, I may able to dispel some of your fears surrounding the COVID crisis.
So, if you’re interested in having my continued help over the coming weeks (who knows when the lockdowns will actually end), then I’d be delighted to help you. If not, that’s ok as well. At least you'll have more clarity and better direction than trying to figure this out on your own.
Now, are you wondering what the catch is? I KNEW you would be!
Well, here it is: There is no catch! I’m offering 10 minutes of my time to determine what the best plan ahead is for you, or to answer whatever questions you have at no cost to you. That’s it!
Since 2010, I’ve helped well over a thousand people lose weight, increase their energy, decrease their pain, improve their mental health, improve their well-being, etc.
Now, even though our doors are, for all sakes and purposes closed, our schedules are filling up more with virtual appointments.
In any case, you owe it to yourself to email or call us to book your FREE phone consult so you don’t have to continue suffering/wondering what to do or waiting for this pandemic to blow over (who knows when that will happen) before you can start feeling better.
It's super easy to grab your spot. Just respond to this email and write “FREE 10” in the subject line, or call us at 253-848-1055 and speak to Angel or Christine, or just leave a message!
I look forward to speaking with you 🙂

PS I’ve let our entire community know about this so hopefully it won’t end up looking like a Boxing Day frenzy. That’s why this is a first come, first served opportunity. If you want help with your current health condition or just want answers to a couple questions ASAP then please email us back or call 253-848-1055, so you’re not forced to wait weeks before we can connect.
PPS There’s still time left on our Quarantine Sale! Call today and get 15% off in-house supplements thru 5/4/2020.
PPPS Many of you have said you are struggling with over-snacking on crappy foods while stuck at home, so here is a yummy and healthy (of course) snack recipe that is super easy to make. (This recipe comes to you from one of my thoughtful patients who wanted me to share it with you!)
NO BAKE ENERGY BITES
½ cup oatmeal
½ cup peanut butter (if you’re adventurous, try almond or cashew butter)
½ cup ground flax seeds
2-3 TBS honey (more if desired) – can also use maple syrup
1 TBS chia seeds
1 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup shredded coconut flakes (optional, but honestly, makes it even more awesome)
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, roll into balls and chill for 30 minutes. Enjoy! Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
****** Please ensure that you are NOT allergic to any of the ingredients before making******
I hope this email finds you well. We at PWC, are committed to doing what we can to support you, our patients, and our community during these challenging times. So, I am asking for your feedback on what we can do to support you through these times of uncertainty.
Our desire is to give. As such, I am seeking ideas from you on how we can do this. Here are some ideas that have come my way so far: Regular emails 1-2x/week detailing tips to stay healthy, ways to improve immunity, ways to handle stress better - explaining and perhaps demonstrating de-stressing techniques, simple and easy recipes for smoothies or meals, discussing topics such as keto diet, intermittent fasting, etc., or simple exercises you can do in your own home such as HIIT. These emails could contain 5-10 minute videos of the practitioners at PWC talking on any of these aforementioned topics or others, or ANY other information or instruction that would benefit you during these unprecedented times.
Please send me any and all ideas you have. Email me personally at drkrupa@puyallupwellnesscenter.com on how PWC can assist you and the community. We will compile your ideas and begin providing you with what you want. Thank you in advance.

The health of our patients, our doctors and staff, and the community is our top priority. Our current mission is to continue to provide the healthcare you've come to expect, keep the community safe, and to be here for you after this pandemic has ended.
We have changed our protocols to best follow current recommended guidelines by the CDC, health department and other governing bodies:
- If you are currently experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, please DO NOT present to the office. Call and we will schedule you for a telehealth appointment. If you are experiencing cough, fever, or shortness of breath or suspect you may have Coronavirus, you may schedule a telehealth appointment. Alternately, you may visit Multicare VirtualCare during weekends or non-patient hours. Lastly, you may visit https://www.apple.com/covid19/ for the online screening tool.
- Telehealth! We have quickly implemented audio-video capabilities and have already started moving our patients to this option. We will be reaching out to patients on the schedule in the next couple weeks to discuss your options for appointments. (Currently, most insurances are covering these visits in full with no patient out-of-pocket)
- We have had to temporarily cease in-office hCG injections. Your provider will have recommendations on what else you can do to continue towards your weight-loss goal.
- Supplements are still available in-office! We are offering curbside pick-up or shipping from the office. Simply call, pay over the phone, and let us know how you'd like to get your supplements. As always, you can also purchase online here. Also, we are aware many supplements are out-of-stock online, including Vitamin C. We have many of them available in-office and will have a large amount of Vitamin C available next week.
Please, do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any other questions or concerns. We are here for you.
Dear Honored Patient,
At Puyallup Wellness Center, our priority is always the health and safety of our patients, practitioners and employees. With the growing concern over the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we feel it is important to keep you informed of the steps we are taking to maintain a safe environment in our clinic and how the current situation will impact your access to healthcare.
Puyallup Wellness Center is open and continues to serve our patients and community. For the safety of all our patients and team members we ask that you refrain from entering the premises if you have symptoms of a respiratory illness including fever, cough and shortness of breath, if you have been in contact with someone with a known or suspected exposure to COVID-19 or if you have been in close contact with a person who has visited a country in the last 14 days that the CDC declared high risk of infection spread.
PWC has instituted elevated protocols and procedures to ensure preventative measures are taken to provide a safe environment for our patients and community members to access healthcare including:
· Screening of all patients prior to each visit ·
Continuous disinfection of all common areas, treatment rooms, bathroom, door handles, equipment and counter tops.
· Frequent hand washing and/or use of alcohol-based sanitizer · Having alcohol-based sanitizer readily available to all patients.
· Emphasis and encouragement of proper hand hygiene among our patients
· Staff and team members are asked to stay home when ill
If you have symptoms of respiratory illness and you have an existing appointment, please call the office and inform us and we will switch you to a telephone or telemedicine appointment. If you are not experiencing any respiratory symptoms, want to keep your appointment but would prefer staying home, we will arrange to have your appointment via phone or telemedicine. Also, we ask that you come to your appointment without unnecessary family or friends. If you require a person to drive you to your appointment, we ask he or she remain in their vehicle if possible. We thank you for your understanding.
Maintaining Your Health
The following are recommendations to help you stay healthy during this challenging time. Aside from social distancing, self-isolation and abiding by any legal orders put into place, there are many things you can do to ensure you remain healthy and keep your immune system strong.
1. Follow your treatment plan. Please continue to take your meds and supplements and follow any other advice as directed by your physician.
2. If you haven't been in to see your physician in a while, make a follow up appointment. If you are over 65 or are over 50 and have a chronic condition such as diabetes, autoimmune disease or are immunosuppressed, you have a higher risk of manifesting the disease and of serious complications should you contract COVID. Your physician will provide you with a treatment plan on how to stay healthy and reduce the chance of becoming acutely ill.
3. Stay calm. Limit your consumption of the news. Yes, get the bare facts, but try to avoid immersing yourself into the 24-hour news cycle. This causes increased cortisol levels which ultimately makes you more susceptible to disease.
4. Practice self-care. This is an excellent time to recommit to your health: exercise more, practice your deep breathing or meditation, pray, do yoga at home, and cook healthy meals or have fun experimenting with healthy snack recipes. Invest quality time with loved ones at home or via phone or Skype. Read a book, get back into your hobby, watch comedies and laugh more!
5. Get fresh air and sunshine. Spring is here. Make it a point to get outside and go for a walk, run or a hike out in nature while maintaining a six-foot distance from others. Work in your yard or get your garden started!
6. Utilize specific nutrients and botanicals such as vitamin A, vitamin D3, vitamin C, NAC, zinc, elderberry.
Please go to our website puyallupwellnesscenter.com/cold-and-flu/ and read the cold and flu protocol and follow it as closely as you can. If you are practicing self-isolation or are ill and need to stay home, you may order your supplements online from us. Please go to puyallupwellnesscenter.com/store/ to order a wide variety of products. You may share this link with your family members and friends.
Good news for those without insurance: The WA health care exchange opened enrollment for health insurance until 4/8/20. So, if you do not have insurance and want to get it, here is your chance! Please go to www.wahealthplanfinder.org and enroll now while it's open!
Lastly, please note that hCG for weightloss has been discontinued by the FDA. It is available to our patients, while supplies last! This is your LAST CHANCE to get compounded HCG for the purpose of weight loss! After that it will be unavailable in the US. If you are interested in utilizing HCG in your weight loss plan, please call us this week. For those of you that are currently taking HCG, please note that we do have HCG stocked up at the clinic and you can continue to get your injections, while supplies last.
All of us at PWC hope that you and your families remain safe and healthy during this challenging time. As always, we are here for your health care needs. If you feel you need support or have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call 253-848-1055 or email us at info@puyallupwellnesscenter.com. We are happy to help you in any way we can.
